Common faults

Problems we see in the garage, and how we fix them.

Models we service

We service every model from this brand. Just mention yours on the booking form.

  1. Fault 01

    Charging and battery problems

Not charging or draining fast can come from the charger, the port, the BMS or the cells. We work from measurements, not guesswork.

  2. Fault 02

    Punctures

Small pneumatic tyres puncture easily at low pressure. A tyre change, the correct pressure and tyre sealant keep the problem down.

  3. Fault 03

    Brake adjustment

On cable brakes, cable stretch and pad wear lengthen your braking distance. Adjustment and replacement bring back a safe stopping distance.

  4. Fault 04

    Water and moisture damage

Riding in the rain and pressure washing lead to oxidised connectors and controllers. Don’t switch on a wet scooter before it has dried out — bring it to the garage.

FAQ

Common questions about CITYMATE

01 My Citymate scooter got caught in the rain and now it won’t work. What should I do?
Don’t try to switch it on or plug it in to charge. Leave it somewhere dry and bring it to the garage; we’ll open up and clean the connectors and the controller.
02 Can you get parts for Citymate?
We can usually source common parts like tyres, brakes and batteries. For model-specific parts, we’ll give you a clear lead time after diagnosis.
03 How often should I have it serviced?
Check the tyre pressure once a week and the bolts once a month; have a professional service every 6 months or roughly every 1,000 km.
04 Do you charge for diagnostics?
No, diagnostics are free. They cover checking your scooter and pinpointing the problem; no repairs are carried out. We send you a clear quote, and repairs only start if you approve it.
05 How does mail-in service work?
Message us on WhatsApp and we’ll send you a shipping code. Pack up your scooter and send it in; when it arrives we do the diagnostics free of charge and send you our quote. Once you approve, we repair it, test it and ship it back to you.
