Common faults

Problems we see in the garage, and how we fix them.

Models we service

  • Zero 8
  • Zero 9
  • Zero 10
  • Zero 10X
  • Zero 11X
  1. Fault 01

    Handlebar stem and folding play

The folding mechanism works loose over time and the handlebar starts to move. We fix it with an adjustment and by replacing worn parts.

  2. Fault 02

    Suspension fatigue

Spring suspension loses damping over time and starts making noise. Greasing plus a bushing and spring check bring back the comfort.

  3. Fault 03

    Controller and wiring faults

Dropping to one motor or jerky power delivery usually comes from the controller, a Hall sensor or the wiring.

  4. Fault 04

Hidden faults after a second-hand purchase

On a used Zero, battery health, motor noise, brakes and handlebar play must all be checked. A thorough service after purchase heads off any surprises from the start.

FAQ

Common questions about ZERO

01 I’ve bought a used Zero 10X. What should I have done first?
A battery health test, brake and handlebar checks, and a thorough full service. If you don’t know the previous owner’s service history, starting from scratch is the safest bet.
02 Can off-road tyres be fitted to a Zero?
Off-road tyres that suit the model and rim size can be fitted. We confirm fitment and price once we’ve seen the scooter.
03 One motor on my Zero isn’t working. Why?
The most common causes are a Hall sensor, the motor cable and the controller. Diagnostics are free.
04 Do you charge for diagnostics?
No, diagnostics are free. They cover checking your scooter and pinpointing the problem; no repairs are carried out. We send you a clear quote, and repairs only start if you approve it.
05 How does mail-in service work?
Message us on WhatsApp and we’ll send you a shipping code. Pack up your scooter and send it in; when it arrives we do the diagnostics free of charge and send you our quote. Once you approve, we repair it, test it and ship it back to you.
